It's Giving Tuesday

hand holding red heart

Giving Tuesday, celebrated in the U.S. the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving, is a global movement that emphasizes the importance of generosity. Established in 2012, Giving Tuesday is a response to the consumerism of Black Friday and Cyber Monday – a reminder that the net effect of giving far surpasses the benefits of buying and consuming.

In my work, I'm fortunate to observe people at their best – when their hearts are open and their intentions are good. Many of our supporters are patients who have experienced the compassionate, quality care at EvergreenHealth and they are so grateful. They choose to give back because they want to make an impact on others by ensuring our teams have the technology and program support they need to best serve our growing community.

For donors, giving back is the most powerful way for them to express their appreciation. They will often reflect on how healing it is for them to support the work of our care teams and to be examples for their families in leaving a legacy of gratitude.

In fact, giving is known to increase happiness while reducing stress. And it can foster a sense of community and connection – resulting in stronger, safer, happier people.

If you or your loved ones would like to give back this holiday season, we encourage you to do so. If you would like to support EvergreenHealth or EvergreenHealth Monroe, please head to our foundations' websites to learn more:
