National Night Out Is August 6

Since 1982, thousands of communities from all 50 states have come together to celebrate National Night Out. An annual event held the first Tuesday in August, National Night Out promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.
EvergreenHealth's organizational vision is to create an inclusive community health system that is a trusted source of health care solutions. We are fortunate to work alongside an excellent local police force, skilled Emergency Medical Services and our own responsive and dedicated internal security officers. We rely on them as they rely on us to protect the health and well-being of our community.
Since 2010, EvergreenHealth has sent organizational leaders (a new group each year) to Anniston, Alabama for training provided by the Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) – a division of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The scope of training includes preparedness, incident management, and response. Our staff members return to their work here with experience and skills to deal with a wide range of man-made and natural hazards, providing our community with an ever-growing corps of skilled, trained responders.
I am deeply grateful to the staff of EvergreenHealth and all our community partners for prioritizing safety in their daily work. Through our collegial and supportive collaboration, we have cultivated a wonderful community to work and live in. This year, I encourage each of you to participate in a community-building event, whether through National Night Out activities or other opportunities throughout the year.
Many of our local communities have planned events for National Night Out. To find an activity where you live, you may do a web search for National Night Out [your city] Washington. And here are links to events in Kirkland and Monroe.
