EvergreenHealth Providers Share Their Personal Resolutions for 2025

New year, new goals! As we step into a new year, many of us reflect on our personal goals and aspirations, seeking ways to improve our health and well-being.
This year, we turn the spotlight on our dedicated physicians, who not only care for our community but also strive to enhance their own health and wellness. As our providers highlight their commitment to personal growth and well-being, we hope it’s a reminder that even those who care for others must also care for themselves.
"I wish to honor the privilege of ushering in another New Year by resolving to focus on mental, spiritual as well as physical health. The goal is to remember to enjoy the present, to approach experiences with curiosity and kindness and to be grateful for each new day."
To put this in practice, I plan to spend more time in nature, meditate for 30 minutes daily, drink more water and sleep for at least 7 hours daily. Happy New Year to you all!"
– Pratima Sharma, MD | EvergreenHealth Internal Medicine + Primary Care
"Read more books! I plan on achieving this by participating in a book club with friends and listening to audiobooks in the car. I always appreciate good book recommendations from patients." – Kate Wiken, ARNP | EvergreenHealth Sleep Medicine
"Women generally stop gaining bone mass in mid-30's so I'm going to change up my exercise during the week do less cardio and make sure I'm doing 10 mins of weights or lift carry my dog around three times the week." – Sarah Low, RPH, BCPS, Clinical Pharmacist | EvergreenHealth Pharmacist Provider Services
"There's not one specific resolution for 2025 but goals I want to work on to live a long, happy, and fulfilled life. My personal goals include:
- Nurturing not only new friendships but reconnecting with old friends on a more regular basis, even if just for an hour to enjoy catching up.
- Being more active to help with overall health and wellness. Instead of sitting down for a coffee with a friend, meet for a walk at the park or along a trail, attend a workout class together or enjoy a quiet exercise on my own as that also helps me think through things more easily.
- Spending more time in my garden, planting vegetables and harvesting to provide healthy, organic options for my family.
- Plan one weekend per month to do some form of travel, whether it be a day trip to the ocean, a hike in the mountains or an extended weekend trip to visit family/friends or a meditative trip for self-care and relaxation.
At the end of day, we should all do what brings us joy and helps us to feel refreshed." – Debra Chaput, MD | EvergreenHealth Primary Care, Lakeshore Totem Lake
"One of my resolutions is to disconnect from my phone more. As physicians, we are trained to be and need to be accessible, but when we always have our phones it's easy to also be distracted by them. My plan is to put my phone down when I walk in my house and turn up the volume so if I get a call or message I hear it, but otherwise not use it." – Camille Clinton, MD | EvergreenHealth Orthopedic & Sports Care
