At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, EvergreenHealth, like most other health care providers across the globe, rapidly expanded its telehealth capabilities to effectively transition traditionally in-person health care appointments to a virtual setting.

The quick pivot to virtual care not only protected the health and safety of patients and providers alike, but it also ensured that patients didn't need to delay important preventive care, health care screenings and chronic care management.

Shelly Henderson, a patient at EvergreenHealth Primary Care in Woodinville, shared how much virtual care helped during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"When I needed to see my primary care provider during the pandemic, Virtual Care offered a safe and easy way to connect with my doctor," Shelly said. "The technology was really easy to use, and I was pleasantly surprised by how natural it felt to talk with my doctor over video —it felt just like being in the clinic, but even more convenient because I didn't have to leave the safety of my home. I was thankful that Virtual Care ensured that I didn't need to delay my care, and I'm looking forward to using it again in the future."

EvergreenHealth continues to offer Virtual Care appointments across many of our ambulatory departments and service lines, providing the benefits of personalized health care via the convenience of technology in the comfort of your home.

Additionally, if you have visited an EvergreenHealth primary care provider in person within the last 3 years, you can schedule a Virtual Primary Care visit via your MyChart account.

While virtual care provides a convenient way to receive advice and guidance from your doctors, there will always be certain appointments you need to have in-person. That's why it's important to know the difference between in-person care and telemedicine.
